It's more than complicated, but let me take a non-violent stab at things...
You want to step in when one of the other kids on the playground is pushing a smaller one, but you don't want to drop a grenade on the bully - that would probably hurt them both.
It seems plain that the Syrian government is/was using chemical weapons, so it's not the same as Iraq, but that doesn't mean people should be mindlessly attacking... not just because some Syrian rebels could be terrorists and overrun the pro-democracy movement, but mainly because war is bad (a little simplistic there, yes, but it encapsulates my simple little feelings).
A person I was talking to suggested enforced no-fly zone, not air strikes... The Russians seem to be handling things better than the US this time; though I wouldn't trust the Syrian government, we'll see what happens when people start talking to each other. If they don't start killing each other instead.
