I was staying in Athens Georgia. We came there to see the Elephant6 band Olivia Tremor Control. Now there was a Cheap Trick show at the 40 Watt club. Michale Stipe was there... in this silly yellow hat, & a fuzzy sweater, trying not to be seen, but BE seen at the same time. It's kind of a laugh. I sat on the bench by the tatto parlor & watched him. The only thing that struck me was how short he is in real life, & that he DOES have pretty eyes, just as he looks on Tv. Later, I went in & talked to him at the bar. Anni was unimpressed by him. We met Cheap Trick too, & she liked them much better.

i saw them on september 10, 1999....it was the coolest show i've ever seen!! i was in row p, and i could see the glimmer in stipey's eyes!! when the band came on stage, everyone stood up, and no one sat down for the rset of the show.
damn, i want them to tour again soon.
