When he plays the guitar, his foot taps in time and his face changes to someone more serious, more intense. Although he seems rather skinny, when he does yoga I can see his muscular frame and he sees to grow larger before my eyes. He enjoys chocolate covered strawberries, arabic coffee, and petite women. He can't swing dance, but can play swing songs on his guitar. His eyes are dark and flash when he tells a story or conveys a thought wordlessly. He talks with his hands and giggles more than laughs. He speaks some Hebrew, studies conflict resolution and the philosophy of aesthetics. He wears mostly and looks best in black clothing. In the mornings and on weekends he pads around his one-room apartment in a black fuzzy bathrobe and duck slippers. He is going to graduate with a BA before he can legally drink alcohol. He has a hard time listening to and being with his mother. He is spiritual, and rational. His guitar teacher is instructing him to play without flourishes. His best friend and girlfriend fell in love last year. He talks about moving to NYC. His friends are ambitious, intellectual, and interesting. In the past his pattern was being attracted to women who needed rescuing. He once asked me to tie him up, but we never did or spoke of it again.

Once upon a time there was a boy who only wore black. His hat, his shirt, his scarf, even his shoes were black. When he looked at himself in the mirror, he thought "I just look best in black," and although this was true, this was not the entire truth. This boy was special. He had a lightness to his eyes that revealed his true nature, that of a boy much much older and wiser than his years, evolved in energy and soul. This boy, without even trying, could hear what people were really saying in their heads (not the words they presented), could feel their deepest feelings. This overwhelmed the boy to a point where he would sometimes not know where he stopped and others began. He discovered that wearing black could shield him from other people. Wearing black creating a moat of silence and autonomy around him. When he feels safe, in his own home, in the company of a friend or two, he will sometimes let his true colors out- he speak strongly and passionately, his aura overflowing with blues and greens.
