my favorite is Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate, One Second before Waking Up. I think that this piece defines dali as a surrealist.

I saw his sculpture museum once, in Paris. Imagine 10 foot sculptures of Elephants with huge extendo-legs, like Inspector Gadget. Or a woman, who has drawers coming out of her torso. Quite fun.

My alltime favorite artist... so sexual, so many things... this'd make more sense if I weren't drunk.... I'm glad I have a favorite artist.

Dali...now DALI knew the_show. He understood its nature so much better than "artists" nowadays do. He understood that the show is an ongoing contribution to as well as a reception of the consequences of exposure to the other perspective. He knew that giving a show is always twice as good as recieving one. Dali was truly a kindred spirit, and not half as self-absorbed, I suspect, as he appeared on the outside. He WANTED people to see him that way. He was himself, surreal.

Have any of you guys seen the movies he made? I downloaded one, Un Chien Andalou (aka An Andalusian Dog). It’s neat. Imagine a Dali painting acted out. It’s not real long, I recommend getting it if you are able to.
