long car trip to see folks on Christmas Day. Couldn't wait for X-mas feast. Stopped by Carl's Junior as it's always open 365 days a year. i feel bad for those workers there.

christmas_eve is traditionally the time to open christmas presents in my family
but there aren't any presents to open this year
i haven't got anything for anyone
and no one's got anything for me (so it's mutual)
well i did get something actually...
from my grandpa's wife (she "takes care" of the giftgiving and the birthday cards/lottery tickets for him so he doesn't have to "bother" with that kinda stuff because he's never cared to),...
anyway, i got some washcloths along with two portable clocks and a loretta lynn cdset (reader's digest stuff she gets all the time)
after twenty four years, she still calls me by my sisters' names when i see her (even though her memory seems otherwise ok)
so i don't know if she even knows who she sent what to because she confuses me with my sisters all the time (on purpose it seems)
but, i'm not complaining. i didn't get anything for her, and i like loretta lynn, and i like washcloths, and i can always use more time.
and with the old christmas programming that my mind has been filled with, it is nice to get something from someone for christmas.
oh wait, my sister gave me a paper christmas tree ornament the other day, prettily made, but i don't have a christmas tree. still, was nice to get.
i should've got something for my nephews. i'll get them something still.
last year i got them some locally made wooden jigsaw traincar toythings.

I agree..christmas is a very strange time.
