This one uses a well-known method that you can find with Google, but it has not been transposed or had a keyword applied, as the original coding method would call for. Enjoy!

OK, letter couplets, corresponding to a 5x5 grid. There are 49 sets of 5 letters, or 245 letters in the ciphered text. There's a broken couplet, or an extra character, or something. I don't know. You said the grid was alphabetical. What about the indicies? You said to string all of the letters together and decode. OK, so far I've tried 1) down and across with forward alphabetized indecies 2) across and down with forward alphabetized indecies 3) down and across with reverse alphabetized indecies 4) across and down with reverse alphabetized indecies 5) all of the above, dropping the first letter of the ciphered text (hoping that nagging extra letter was the first one) I've come up with nothing. A bone, please?

Or, maybe I'm getting something and not recognizing it. I seemed to solve the last one and thought it was gibberish... is the solution in English?

_A D F G X A D F G X put I and J in one space, follow each letter in the couplet to the intersection in the grid to get the plaintext letter. "ADFGX cipher" in Google will lead you to pages that describe the complete method for this cipher, but I chose not to employ a keyword or transposition.

Yep, that's the first thing that I tried after I posted ciphermeister. The first 20 chars of what that gets me is "aschqsskecatiesuetec" Which looks like nonsense output, so I disregarded it as incorrect. Are you telling me that I'm again seeing gibberish where there is not? And what about that extra character?

I'll check my notes, but let me make sure: for a couplet like "GF", are you going from the G row over to the F column, or the other way around? Because some of the letters you got are right, but I'm thinking it's because they correspond to double letter couplets...

OK, double check me. What I posted was row/column, but I've also tried column/row. Nothing that looks right shakes out. . a d f g x .---------- a|a b c d e d|f g h ij k f|L m n o p g|q r s t u x|v w x y z AAGFAFDFGA GFGFDXAXAF AAFGDGAXGF GXAXGGAXAF row/column gives me: aschqsskecatiesuetec column/row gives me: aolmdoowvlasrvoyvtvl And neither looks like anything worthwhile. Please tell me where I've gone wrong.
