driving to freedom, 65 on the highway listening to the engine run my radio is gone, silence is still humming metallic parts carrying me across the city i reach my beach, and i stretch to begin i walk to the shore, and feel the relaxing wind my feet make a steady beat the waves make a lovely roar silence is broken little beads start to fall from my brow like tiny icicles melting in a snowy cave my breathing picks up and my speed seems to slow down my rhythm makes love with the silence a wave traps my legs and the fish swim in the sea birds line the shore looking for a bite to eat all along there is little silence my body is tired of keeping its pace my lungs are spent from breathing so fast my heart is working just to keep my alive the only thing that cools me is being submerged in the waves now there is nothing, i'm simply free silence at last, for my soul to sleep nothing else is important its just me and the sea silence is freedom, when you swim so carefree

after our last night together i went out for a swim in the big lake. i knew that it would be freezing, but i was ready bared the cold waters. with only a towel wrapped around me i trodded off the campsite and on to the long beach, leaving my footprints in the sand. as i didn't have my glasses on i could only make up the shape in the distance. it was my father. "good morning sunshine!" he called out before I made it to the lake. you were peeking out of the tent laughing at me as i ran back up the beach and dived into the tent, putting on some clothes before having to face my father for the next 14 hours on the road home...
