devalis One night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with God and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonged to me and the other to God.

When the last scene of my life flashed before us I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life

This really bothered me and I questioned God about it. "God, you said that once I decided to open my heart to you, you would walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, in times when I needed you most, you should leave me."

Then God replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you and I would never, ever leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you!"

silentbob And then you said, "So those footprints where you were 'carrying me' are dragged through the sand so they make more of a snake trail than footprints? Are they like that cuz i'm really heavy? Or what? Because i distinctly remember being DRUNK through the worst times in my life....and that would definately explain those footprints. Liar." 030225

niska yeah - in grade 8, we sold items out of a catalog, door to door, to raise money for our class trip. almost every person over 50 bought this little plaque that had the poem 'footprints' on it. i remember the picture, it was a sunset on the ocean - footprints in the sand.
everyone should get one of those for the den.
also popular, was the 'serenity prayer', and it had doves on it and some hands praying. no imagination went into these projects at all... or, were they just TOO clever?
what's it to you?
