twas the wind and nothing more

the fires were about an hour and a half to two hours drive north of here, the one fire i got to see the effect of was one down south by tucson a couple months back (paste! mentioned it when he was down there, though i forget which blathe...the winds carried the smoke to such a point it could be seen from here in phoenix, which is funny because it did not cause near the range devastation that the most recent fires caused it's been said that it will take as long as 200 years for that nearly half-million acre section of the northern forests to recover fully i watched it all burn on CNN from the meat_locker_chill of my room with the pretty view of the city skyline in the intensive_scare_unit in classical mythology, the raven was once snowy white and was blackened by fire for bearing unpleasant news to Apollo frankly, i could have almost fallen into tears to ponder the loss of all that forest i'm phobic about fire on a very deep level, but oddly enough i am fascinated by it, it is a recurring theme in my head and not surprisingly at all i want to be cremated when i die, that way maybe i'll actually be a phoenix next time around (coincidentally enough, the raven's tendency, when circumstances permit, to accidentally start damagung fires in an attempt to bathe itself in smoke - stealing smoldering twigs stolen from wood fires and other burning materials - to clean away feather_mites may have been at least partially responsible for the myth of the phoenix) the circularity and interconnectedness of so many things in this world is sometimes amusing as hell and other at other times it can be something terrible in it's own strange way anyway, that's all i've got for now, thanks for bearing with me through all my rambling
