The Smithereens (w/Suzanne Vega)

I heard it said somewhere that one day all good things come to an end. I turn around to see you. And if I do or not, it all depends. I was born the day I met you, Lived a while when you loved me, Died a little when we broke apart. Yesterday, it would have mattered. Now today, it doesn't mean a thing. All my hopes and dreams are shattered now. I'm in a lonely place without you. I'm in a lonely place without you. I walk the streets alone at night sometimes and think about you. I look as strangers pass, and wonder how I'll live without your love. I was born the day I met you, Lived a while when you loved me, Died a little when we broke apart. Suddenly, this world's no longer bright. I'm alone and lonely every night. Won't you bring back your love that's out of sight? I'm in a lonely place without you. I'm in a lonely place without you.

tonight with shadows dancing on the walls to that african drum beat I learned earlier today. that time i felt so unified with all the drummers in my circle yet so alone in my beats in my harmony that the middle in the family of drums sustains, according to my teacher. not melody not base but harmony. why did I feel so separated? its ok I felt like dancing anyway~ for the first time in dance class and I did it all by myself and they said, "zoe has it down!" and I didn't feel embarrassed i just liked the tones and the movement and the sway of all the pounding flesh. The drumming was beautiful in its entirety and in its lonely existence. we are nothing without eachother.

Caressing The marble and stone Love That was precious for one... How I wish you were here With me now ...I never could quite catch all the words and I've seen so many different interpretations of them that I won't even try to reconcile them
