I wish I could have some so that we can go to a bar and I can say "hey, can I buy you a drink" then you will think "oh, that's hot" I almost wish I had thought of that myself

Beutiful stuff, far more colorful than the American Greenback. But it'll all be replaced with somekind of Smartcard soon anyway. I wonder what this'll do to underground economy?

According to the Economist, it's undervalued compared to the dollar. Which means it will be rising in value soon... maybe? They look at how much it costs each country to make a Big Mac, and compare that with how the country's currency is doing. If a country can make a cheap Big Mac, they're going to climb, economically speaking... http://economist.com/displaystory.cfm?story_id=1730909

Currencies based on Big Macs - sounds like economic collapse should there be a significant shift towards vegetarianism. ³

The Canadian dollar closed at 70.44 cents today. The last time it was worth this much, there was no GST.

I love Canadian money. It's so pretty and colourful. I think the different colours actually help you appreciate and pay more attention to the pictures that are on them, especially the newer five and ten dollar designs. And I love how the one and two dollar coins are called "loonies" and "toonies"--they're fun and whimsical names for money. Then again, I'm Canadian, so I might be *slightly* biased in my opinions. :)

a lot of countries have colorful money. money from australia is not only colorful, but every bill has different dimensions. i wonder if australian wallets are made bigger to accommodate this?

FAO: tourist, re: underground economy 'old' dollars will became illegal to own, and used exclusively for underground purposes, thus seperating the underground from legal transactions.
