fyn gula feeling better with each revived beating of his tiny heart, puppertwinkle shook the remaining water from his soaked fur, propelling it from his body in all dirctions at once. some of the drops hit saumboo and dotted his stone body, but it did not awaken him. he could smell a strong odor of rotting garbage and realized it was proina's stench of inconsiderate destruction.

he continued his careful investigation of the immobilized white cat that apparently saved his life. it was animatronic, but presently unmoving.

he soon found out why.

there was a key he could see connected to an internal mechanism underneath the silky hair of the cat's back. he figured it was there for the purpose of winding and thus done would give it lifelike ablility as well as propulsion. he also discovered a small rubber coated ring which was attached to an elastic pullcord which the little dog guessed was its means of speaking. he tried pulling it, but like a lawn mower that has lost its compression, it would not budge.

"fuck." puppertwinkle said to himself. he wanted to hear the cat talk. and then he thought maybe if he turned the key a few times first and animated the cat, it would free the cord. he felt the familiar twinge of fear, unsure of what the cat might do to him, but let it pass, because this cat must be his friend if it saved his life. this is how dogs think and their intuition is rarely incorrect.

and so he wound the key as far as it could go and quickly jumped out of its way to see what would happen.

it was as if god had taken a magic wand and waved it just above the cat's head and said, "voila!" for it sprang to life, first blinking its eyes, then turned its head, stuck its tail straight up, and casually licked its right paw. it looked at puppertwinkle with recognition like he was an unfinished project it had been working on.

it took a few steps towards him and it was here that puppertwinkle noticed the cat only had three legs.
