minnesota_chris I do think, and I kinda resent you implying that I don't think.

My own method of sticking it to The_Man is to buy my christmas presents from second hand stores.

Strideo My way of sticking it to The Man is to pay for everything with cash, no financing. If I don't have the money for it then I don't need it. If I use my credit_card then I pay it off when the bill comes. The Man really hates that, he wants to make interest off of me.

Of_course the exception is my house. 140 grand is hard to save up. But I don't have any of those wackey interest only or adjustable rate mortgages either. 30 year mortgage? How 'bout I pay it off in 20 years biotches?

Take that The Man! Take that!

I won't be shopping today either. I hate the crowds . . . and come on, do I really NEED that extra special door buster "deal" on a 52" plasma screen TV? No. I don't need that TV anyways.

I do think it would be amusing if for once the majority of shoppers stayed home on black friday. Imagine the economic predictions of doom and gloom for the holiday shopping season. Wouldn't it be nice to have an economy based on sound economic decisions rather than how much debt we can accrue for christmas presents?

Christmas could stand to be a little smaller, a little quieter, and perhaps a little holier for those who view it as a matter of faith rather than a secular gift giving extravaganza. I'm not saying there is no room for a gift giving extravaganza at all though. Hey, giving and recieving presents is fun!

Yeah yeah, true meaning of Christmas, blah blah, we can sell that too.
