andru235 your world will not last, otherwise

there are things we might have to give up, until we find other sources of renewable energy that don't leave a mess behind...but i guarantee you, it is worth it.

if all the commercial lights for businesses closed for the evening were turned off, we could close 1/5 of our nuclear facilities. if we also turned off the heat/a.c. overnight at commercial/corporate offices, we could close another 1/5.

the idiot in chief suggests that we can solve our impending energy crisis by building new nuclear plants. this is a classic case of short term thinking. once depleted, uranium-235 is a deathtrap for millions of years!

can you imagine the indignation of peoples 50,000 years from now having to maintain depleted uranium that we used to keep the mcdonalds sign on all night? and knowing that the maintainence will have to continue for millions and millions of years thereafter, lest disaster occur?

let's go nuke-free. is the u.s. a world leader or not?

"but other nations will have the nuke!"

we started the problem. we have to lead the way to the solution.

"but hitler would have used it!"

the nuclear programs of the u.s. and russia commenced before hitler was even a blip on the radar

"...but...but..."

nuke-free is (y)our only long term chance. maintaining depleted uranium/plutonium is EXPENSIVE. we have lots of money now, but fifty, a hundred years from now? eventually another depression will occur. it is INEVITABLE. and when it does, where will the resources to deal with a uranium leak come from? especially considering the rapidity of nuclear expansion worldwide.

if north korea hit us with a nuke it would be NOTHING compared to what our own stores of depleted uranium would do to us if the seals on those casks broke. this has happened before, even recently. it isn't front page news when it does (gee, i wonder if this has anything to do with the power company owning the media) but do a little research and...

"you're paranoid."

oh, ok. that's it. you're right, no problem here, folks.

"we could launch the waste into space."

heard of karma?

fact is, the only smart choice is to STOP THE FISSION.

we can do it!
