dafremen R. Dafremen

This may not be my dying day
But it's sure to be a trying day
I walk into the wilderness alone
Where the remnants haunt me
I'm holding back a little bit
because I don't know if it's time
To bring it on full speed
Or how much I'll need

Into whatever awaits me
Let's see what I can do

Up ahead are footprints of
The souls that passed before me
I'm shooting for that 99
While I've got the balls to find it
And if I struggle more than a little bit
Down the treacherous road that winds right out of view
Then that's what I'll do.

Into whatever awaits me
Gotta pull out the stops
And push on through
Into whatever awaits me
It's time to see what I can do
Let's see what I can..

I've got in my hand the key
That I
Just need to keep ahold of
Take a step toward tragedy
or victory if I'm bold enough

Not too long ago
I started out
So idealistic and quite naive
Not after what I've seen

Into whatever awaits me
Time to test my steel against the groove
Into whatever awaits me
Into whatever awaits me..
Into whatever awaits me..

Let's see what I can do

dafremen A rough, live recording is here. I'm playing guitar, singing and banging out a tempo on a kick drum I made out of a milk crate, a wirebrush and some appetizer trays.

Enjoy.

epitome of incomprehensibility Great song!

I like the classic rock feel - I know next to nothing about rock & blues, mind you - but I like it. The stops and starts give the song energy; same with the quick end on a major chord... I'm not going to go all Theodor Adorno on this, but I think the music fits well with the lyrics - both suggest energy, drive, anticipation.

(Now I feel like going and recording a song, as if I could just go and do that!) Peace,
.
