Poetic Onslaught I can be just another nobody with a rant. I can be that tumbleweed in a deserted timein a deserted placebecause I never changed in the way we were all supposed to. I could keep listening to that same old song. And my paranoia could keep coming back mostly because it’s something familiar.
I can be that awkward nobody with a shuffled walk. I can be the guy that only smiled at these jokes in an attempt to fade in to the background, because a laugh would be too conspicuous, although not laughing is just as blatant.
And your point of view could be as of someone passing me by on the streetlike, really who do I think I am to even be given such a privilege?
Or I can be just as I am nowjust another drunk with too much SHIT on his mind!
I can continue to push as if the outcome had to be something positivebecause why are we all holding on if it weren’t for that?? Surely this misery has to amount for something?
Or maybe it all amounts to nothing. The Sistine Chapel portrays God, in The Creation of Adam, inside of a brainas if this misery must all be mine. It must be my perspective causing this misery because God surely wouldn’t have allowed it. Or He may be just a figment of my own imagination

who knows if i will read, finish, and absorb this book about a book, or will it be put on the shelf for an arrangement to hold potential only? and eventually, when it's no longer of any use, donated to the library.

at any rate it begins with markson's quote of t.s. eliot's commentary on ulysses which is "under the volcano"'s direct inspiration:

"It is simply a way of controlling, of ordering, of giving a shape and a significance to the immense panorama of futility and anarchy which is contemporary history."

-ELIOT, "Ulysses, Order and Myth"

and then it goes on to talk about Dante, and Homer, and etc. etc. etc.
