Forming Mind

Days in which we stop to draw lines. Lines there, and here. Dividing countries, and dividing opinions. I'm here, they're there. I was born in this small hospital in America. He was raised in his home in Iraq. So we sit and smash glasses when others born here die. Their lives taken so soon. And three Iraqis die and we shed no tears. But sit, blind-faced. When did we become ignorant? When did blood mean something different when sheading from another man? We will mourn the loss of life in such a unneccesary way. But we will mourn for not the American or the Iraqi, but the life. The breathing that stopped.
