minnesota_chris What do you have that can be sued away? 040607

realistic optimist i'm sorry that today's legal system requires such things, however, if one of the attendees were to injure themselves, they could try to sue me. of course i don't have much, but the court doesn't really care what you do or don't have when they assess what an injury is worth. if this offends you, i'm sorry, but it is a necessary evil. liability is a legitimate concern when orchestrating an event, and every convention i have ever attended has required each participant to sign one.
so in short, i agree that we "shouldn't" need a liability waiver, but unfortunately, that has no bearing on what is necessary. so please, print, fill out, sign, and send these ASAP, so we can move on to more fun parts of hyping up BLATHERCON_2004!

realistic optimist hehe yeah i was going to make some wisecrack about the realist side in me coming out for this damned waiver, but i'm glad you made it for me. anyway, i will do my best to email this waiver to people this weekend as well since i should be able to use the computer lab at my apartment complex.

By the time Blathercon_2004 is ready to begin, i will need a liability waiver from all participants.

Look for more updates in the near future to blathercon_events and blathercon_announcements!
