She sat at the desk, trying to work out what to write, conflicting advice running through her head. "You can't force it." "Just make yourself sit and do it." So she was trying to sit peacefully, without trying too hard, but with focus and intention. If only she had washed her hair last night she might be able to concentrate. She could almost *feel* the grease and dirt piling up. If there was one thing she’d learnt, it was that if in doubt, always wash your hair rather than not. She knew that if she was really in it, really in the flow, the hair wouldn't bother her. "You're always writing such... small stories. Not much happens. Can you write something bigger?" "Write what you know." But all she knew was small things. Was there some way of making every day things seem bigger? Talking about them or into them so they seemed more important? Maybe if she tried writing in an American accent? She sighed, glanced at the clock. The allocated time was almost up. She hadn't written anything, but at least she'd sat there, right? That counted for something? Another sigh. Maybe tomorrow would be better. Bigger and better.
