one time when I was dating a hacker/phreaker we took one of those red phones and we went behind a business and opened their phone box and we called Hawaii.
We almost got caught by the cops.
again, that's not really how I like to get my kicks.

Heheh you kids! Be an old school phreaker from PBX/Metrophone daze. Back when you could write a wardialer to hack out LONG DISTANCE ACCESS CODES while you were asleep. Sigh...the safety net that was youth. Sometimes I long for those days. (We didn't have tone dial so I soldered a plug to my modem's modulator output and attached the plug to my TV's earphone port to get tone dial. Commodore VIC-20 and a VICMODEM.
