I'm from that old_school which holds true hackers in high esteem. These were individuals dedicated to their craft - driven to beating systems, usually to improve them and usually just for the accolades of their peers. Having studied gaming code some, I'd have to catagorize gamers in the same league. These guys have to squeeze system resources to the max which means getting right down to the metal and coming up with elegant algorithms. It's too bad hacking has become synonymous with evil.
