Sardonic Ptolemy DCLVIII I have never truly hated another who truly hated me. My efforts to hate and be hated have been in vain, and we ended up being friends. I am losing hope that I will ever fully, consumately hate someone who hates me back equally.

Therefore, I can no longer believe in hate. Not "true hate", nor hate of any kind. It's a myth. No one really hates each other, nor have they ever. If it seems like hate they were really but strange friends. Hollywood gives history's massacres a bad rap just to sell movies, hate was never in the picture... we are all hooked on a sentiment that doesn't really exist.

When people kill others in a blind rage, it is not a product of hate, because hate is merely a romanticized infatuation. Such travesties are rather a product of warped adoration, craggily twisted about like glass bottles over a campfire.

zeke in my experience, hate is mostly a reaction against the uncertainty and discomfort of fear on some level. in practice, it is a verb. we perpetrate it. i believe it is a survival mechanism, useful in that it keeps us alert and aware of the environment we must control (to the extent that we are able) in order to stay alive and well.

still, hatred is something which i struggle to control in myself. it is the rejection of intimacy.
