'Oh, and did we mention the threat for thundersnow? It usually happens only once a year and not every year, but meteorologist Penny Zabel said the chances for loud bangs during your overnight slumber are highly possible. Sweet dreams. "It's pretty rare," she said. "There's just enough upward motion in the atmosphere with some forcing that's given it enough lift to produce some convection." In simple terms, please? "Basically it's a thunderstorm with colder air that keeps it snow instead of rain," Zabel said' WHAT THE FUCK? and supposedly why there's so much snow in my neighborhood i couldn't even open my front door yesterday. thundersnow....hmpf.

the last time i experienced thundersnow my car was buried under 41" of wet, heavy snow, then the temperature dropped, the blizzard started, and it all froze into an enormous brick of ice. add to that a power outage for seven straight days.... wooohoooo for severe winter weather! but, there were guitars, log burning fires, and friends...plus the beer stayed cold for sure.

no way. i definitely saw lightening and heard thunder during the blizzard last night. and i am currently literally snowed into my apartment because the insane wind drifted all the snow on the roof onto my kitchen windows. the snow went through the screen onto the pane so i opened the window and scraped the snow off the panes so it wouldn't fuck up the new window sills in my kitchen when it melts. i just made snowballs INSIDE my apartment. that is fucked up
