yellow skull when we were little we drove across the country 7 times. when we would go through nevada there were not enough bathrooms except for holes in the red earth. my mom would convince my sister to pee outside by telling her that that's what indian princesses did. 010712

TalviFatin god damnit..they're Native Americans. Indians are from India. But anyway, I wish the English, Spanish, and French didnt discover this land...They ruined it's beauty. I would have been damn happy to have lived simple on the earth like the Natives did. Specially the Iroquois. 010730

my name it means nothin I'm pretty sure a lot of "Native Americans" call themselves Indians, so it's not exactly wrong to say. I'm possibly like 1/64th Indian (means alot, I know ;) ) but my aunt is involved in this tincy part of her background and the people she knows call themselves Indians, I think.

Also...it's not like "Native American" is exactly more correct. Afterall, the Europeans gave the name america. To the people living here then (not now) Indian probably wouldn't have been any different than Native American.

I guess individual nations or tribes are the most politically correct (which isn't ALL bad)

L. Actually we refer to which tribe we are, but on legal documents we have to hit "native american/alaskan native" but we are all "native americans" literal definition-wise.

My family is from the Navajo Nation. We don't refer to ourselves as Indians...at least not the ones I know. But for marketing ploys they put "indian jewelry" so tourists know and it's a whole less of letters for a sign.

blather math check navajo and indian have the same number of letters, so couldn't the sign just say "Navajo Jewelry"? 070517

L. well not ALL of them say native jewelry, some do say Navajo or Hopi since both tribes are regionally close to one another.

Some of them proclaim navajo/hopi/and zuni. i guess that would fall under the NATIVE category, eh?

my name it means nothin well I guess it makes sense that not everyone calls themself the same thing...indian ns. native american.

my dad knows someone who's navajo, but prefers to be called Dine (sp?). But I guess that isn't what all Navajo people call themselves..?
