We stood on the stone veranda, watching polo-shirted men wash plastic cartons of tomatoes in the fountain, and discussing things of great importance, our favourite books and our friends and Latin. I told you again how much I love Salinger, and how emo he is. I asked if the emokids read Salinger at your school, and you said they read Hemmingway, and were very suprised to hear that I haven't read any yet. So, the question I pose before you all... which is more emo, Salinger or Hemmingway?

Hemingway is not even remotely emo. I think Salinger is only slightly emo. It he had a choice, I think he'd probably listen to elliot smith and avoid emo altogether.

i dont think the authors are emo, though i haven't read either. i think really Reading them is emo. it is emo to wear black framed glasses, not the glasses themselves.
