it's funny because driving those two drives over and over again (the opposite directions, one from my house to sacramento and one from my house to berkeley), i feel like i've traveled the length of california many times over, and that's probably why i want to get the hell out of here and see something new

Buy a motorcycle. They say a_change_is_as_good_as_a_rest and riding puts you in touch with the environment. If I were lucky enough to live in California (?), it's the ONLY way I'd travel... ³

the thing that ruins a drive, is all the places you can stop.

the drive from southern to northern california is one of my favorite drives. yes, i admit the scenery gets a bit dull after a while, but i keep myself very entertained by: seeing how quickly i can do the "7" hour drive, pushing my grandmother's oldsmobile to the limit,(did i mention the empowering rush of energy that comes from hauling ass nonstop across 300mi of open highway,) slowing down for cops who like to hide behind on-ramps, skillfully passing slower cars, mooing at cows as i drive by, seeing how many people are smoking pot/picking their noses/looking unhappy while driving, counting SUVs, and so on. i love driving! i love the actual and symbolic freedom that i get while driving (not in traffic.) and i just might be over-romanticising driving, since i only drive when im home for vacations, but i truely do miss it.
