mmm i wasn't sure what to think about it at first. it raised a few interesting questions... but i wasn't sure about it as a movie. i think it kinda sucked (a little to sappy for my taste), but it had some good parts.. ur opinion? 010630

florescent light I enjoyed the movie, but didn't think it was great.
I think it was too focused on the grandiosity of the imagery- so much in fact that it overwhelmed and one didn't have time to appreciate, fantasize, and/or wonder about any one thing.

Because Speilberg felt it necessary to jam-pact so much of it in, I thought it took away from the morality issues- which essentially is what makes a movie a good movie- the issues that move the audience.

I should have left this movie with all sorts of internal debates going on inside of my head about the fate of that young robot boy, about the issues that came into play, etc.

But I didn't

- kind of like when you introduce someone to a new type of music- if you blast it- chances are the person won't like it cause it's overwhelming them.
This is how the movie was.
They went all out- blasted it-

Sometimes, less is more.

freakizh if the movie would have ended just when david plead to the blue fairy eternally.. it would have been an awesome movie.

it had certain things in kubrick style.. "monica"'s reactions remembered me to eyes wide shut, i don't know why.

and all the sappy things, like the aliens and david's hope, are certainly spielberg's.
