So I filled this notebook with thoughts, words, pictures, drawings, journal entries. and I left it in a coffee shop in minneapolis, hoping that someone would think it was at least slightly interesting. I think it would be really awesome to find a random journal, ya know? So I held my breath for about a week. and I got a message on my cellphone (i left my cell number and email address) from a guy named Jamie (cool deal, we share the same name) who is 24 and found my journal in a coffee shop. he said he was "intrigued" and "think[s] its awesome that the notebook was so honest and personal" so i called him back and we had a brief chat (he was busy so he's calling me back sometime). He listens to bands like cursive and radiohead and well...I don't know much else other than that he sounds really nice and sounds like exactly who I wanted to find the journal. whew. successful project :)

cool idea.. aren't you afraid that people will hassle you about it in some way? (like they'd phone you constantly / not get it and keep trying to get it back to you, etc?)

That is a beautiful idea. I want to pass around an unfilled journal at my high school, slipping it secretly into people's lockers, and seeing if I can find other dreamers. But I'm afraid that they'll turn it into a joke.

make it anonymous, and judge it's success by the number of times it returns to you.
