on my own outside of an academic atmosphere, i have been practicing pretty regularly again. but it's liberating to be working on what i want to play rather than what i have to play. school was making me hate playing the violin for awhile. i do miss orchestra and quartet though.
but i've been working on movements of the barber and mendelssohn concertos, sonata v and vi from the 1681 set by biber, some various movements of solo bach, the passacaglia from the rosary sonatas by biber and the entire kabalevsky concerto. i should probably throw a mozart concerto and some orchestra excerpts in there but i don't have any up here with me. i've been doing the violin my way lately which makes me much happier. i'll get where it's gonna take me someday i think.
