one of my favorite pieces ever written for violin is a passacaglia by biber ; a lament on the life and death of christ built on the descending tetrachord (g - f- eb- d) 60 some odd times. i lost the music over the summer leaving the house for work in a flurry not realizing the music pocket of my case wasn't zipped up. a boy ran up to me at the busstop and handed me all the actual music but informed me all my photocopies were blowing all over the neighborhood. so who knows where my copy of the unaccompanied passacaglia of the rosary sonatas by biber ended up.

i see much beauty in repetition. minimalism in music always appealed to me also for some reason.
