an_unfinished_argument
neesh to the person who last wrote on answer_for_astrology_skeptics (i have to go to a lesson now but i'll be back later):

you sicken me.

if science can be used to make people happy, even if it is trivial indulgence, then why not?

i think people are more sacred than your precious science.

also, i have read explanations for why the current positions of astrological bodies are actually irrelevant for astrological calculations, but i don't recall it now. i've read lots of arguments for and against astrology (did you bother to read what daf wrote, incidentally?), but i'm no expert, and in the end i felt it pointless to read explanations, because it's inherently obvious to me that everything is related. that's just truth, to me, and i think The Truth put it best on another blather page (whats_your_sign, possibly).

but i'm not here to attack your disbelief in astrology, as you might have noticed from my first three paragraphs, which are nothing to do with astrology. i'm writing this because i'm generally, and genuinely annoyed with the way people have recently been attacking the beliefs of others on blather. why?

some have found it particularly annoying because they feel like beliefs are being prescribed to them, they feel like epiphanies are being shoved down their throats, but then in response they've shoved counter-arguments and disproofs down other throats. what leg could you possibly have to stand on doing that? it is self-evidently equally bad.

...
deathofarose people have a great insecurities about not having the total conviction that they are the only ones with the 'whole truth' so they attack others to feel better about themselves.

I've done it in my lower moments and then realized 'Hey, I could fit another size 12 in here. Cool!'.

Oh and hey Neesh doOd.
