dosquatch ... was long and rusty. I was playing around on a stack of old pallets - barefoot, even - and I jumped down from one stack onto a shorter stack. Nothing that unusual for an 8 year old boy.

In through the bottom, out through the top. The interesting thing is, it never really hurt, it was more like a strange sensation of pressure. And it felt *really* strange pulling my foot back off of it. Again, not really pain, it was more like what it feels like to pull stitches out, only ... bigger.

Since it didn't hurt, and since I'm not inclined to flip out over such things anyway, I calmly walked back home, in through the kitchen, to the bathroom, and began washing the wound and dressing it as best I could.

I hadn't really noticed that I'd left a blood trail until halfway through my cleaning, I heard my mom in the kitchen making very panicked sorts of sounds, sounds which followed my trail to the bachroom, where she proceeded to flip out. "Ohmygodwhathaveyoudonetoyourself?!?" and such.

And, honestly, I think that's the only reason I really even remember it. The nail never bothered me, it was the spastic mother and the damned tetnus shot that made the experience miserable.

Sorry, Strideo...

Death of a Rose mine went through my ankle, and this is the unbelievable part, it went between the bones in the ankle and thankfully didn't hit any either the tibia or fibula or the ATF.

and believe me there was pain since it went all the way through the ankle, having been shot by an air nailer while I was helping to put the roof on my parents house.

the blather_oracle is taking me to memoryville again.
