A task so simple as walking combined with talking to a beloved friend, but one cannot speak while feeling the ground beneath feet, the gentle pressure of the unnaturally smooth and flat ground, the sensation muted through an inch of rubber - become an automaton, limited senses give priority to speech Listen to music, concentration slowly disappearing (or perhaps it is only I whose limit is a handful of seconds for seriously employing any sense other than sight, all others quickly becoming secondary and automated) Hear of gardens for the blind (or blindfolded, as the case may be), where the rule "do not touch" is scrapped for "do not look" - teaching that sight is not always necessary (or should not be?) - providing too much sensory overload Too much to grok

My fiance says women's brains are wired to be very good at multitasking. She says guy's brains are for narrow focus.

they SAY women are supposed to be good at multitasking. Unfortunate that I took after my father, I can't watch tv and fold laundry to save my life, much less talk on the phone and drive. My rule of thumb is, if I'm not looking at you, i'm probably not listening to you.
