MMMKay, current modern carbonation isn't done with tanks of gas bubbling through liquid. It'd done by tossing chunks of dry ice into huge vats. So the question then becomes, where does dry ice come from? There's just bunches of sites happy to tell you that dry ice is made by compressing CO2 into a liquid and blah_blah_blah. But still the question, where do they get the CO2? Still, though, the Google knows all assuming one knows the right question to ask.
