ever dumbening how was your drive up the coast? what roads did you take? what did you see? who did you meet? did you soak in hot water? 050923

Piso Mojado The drive was long and filled with scenery that only got increasingly beautiful as the rental Buick LeSabre moved this body, boxes, and a playafied bike further and further North along I-5.

One highlight was listening to this amazing woman speak of energy on KPFA, and consequentially completely missing important signs and turnoffs, ending up (to my delight) lost in San Francisco.

An evening in Santa Rosa was spent well with an old friend, sunset the background for catch-up conversation and idea-play, a mediocre mexican dinner, and blissful sleep. (Harbin Hotsprings put on hold until the cold and rain make soaking in hot water and quiet meditation a necessity.)

Back onto I-5 I picked up a woman who had been searching for a ride to Eugene on craigslist. Stunning, glowing, and gentle, she asked me questions of Burning Man and my experiences (the topic of her thesis.)

Dropping her off at her house, she gave me a brief guided tour of Eugene, quiet at dusk.

Shuttled back and forth between Olympia and Seattle for a day or so- the highlights being clean air and green trees, time with old friends, and the cop letting me go with a warning ("Is there some reason WHY you were going 77 in a 60 zone?")

And now, settled and blissfully happy to be here and have the privilege of exploring downtown or the woods with friends, or curling up with a book for class in my room. The 1400 miles were a positive and successful transition into this space and the unknown potentials of this upcoming year.
