freedom_kidnapping
Saorise When one parent of a young child dies, the child belongs with its living parent unless there is proof that parent personally is unfit.

That is because society, the social and psychological sciences, and the law have long recognized that a young child thrives and develops best with a fit parent who loves the child.

Freedom for a young child includes most importantly thriving and developing well.

If the parent personally be proven unfit, then the law permits responsibility for the child to be given to siblings, grandparents, or aunts or uncles who know the child and whom preferably the child has known.

Relatives, like great uncles or first cousins once removed who have never known the child and whom the child has never known, never come into the picture and never should. They are as much strangers to the child as you and I.

Kidnapping is the usual word for such a distant relative/stranger's taking the child without any authority and keeping the child contrary to law and lawful orders to return the child to its fit parent.

Freedom for all of us includes not having mobs blatantly violating laws, that are reasonable and meant to protect young, defenseless children, and lawful orders from government officials to enforce such laws.

Return the young boy to his father, let father and child return home to Cuba if they wish, and charge any mobsters who interfere and the great uncle with kidnapping.

Then freedom will truly ring.
