I
know
a
woman
from
London
,
England
who
has
been
living
in
Cleveland
,
Ohio
for
seven
years
,
working
as
a
teacher
.
Her
husband
was
relocated
to
Kentucky
and
the
two
of
them
have
been
living
apart
for
about
two
years
.
Because
of
some
strange
law
,
she
is
no
longer
allowed
to
hold
a
job
here
in
the
states
--only
her
husband
can
work
until
they
become
US
citizens,
which
is
an
amazing
maze
of
red
tape
.
She
just
moved
down
here
to
live
with
her
husband
,
which
is
the
only
upside
to
the
situation
,
but
she's
quite
upset
that
her
career
has
to
end
until
certain
government
departments
get
off
their
apathetic
asses
.
She
has
left
many
associates
and
good
friends
behind
in
Cleveland
.
She's
wondering
what
she
will
do
with
her
time
now
.
Maybe
do
some
volunteering.
She's
seeing
loneliness
ahead
.
I
saw
the
two
of
them
the
other
night
and
could
sense
her
loneliness
.
As
they
were
leaving
,
I
called
out
to
her
from
across
the
parking
lot
:
"
Sarah
..."
"
Yes
?"
"
Welcome
home
!"
The
next
day
she
emailed
my
wife
and
told
her
that
hearing
me
say
that
was
the
nicest
thing
she'd
heard
in
a
long
time
.
My
wife
and
I
will
be
going
out
with
them
soon
.
We're
determined
to
help
their
new
life
get
off
to
a
good
start
.
Loneliness
shouldn't
be
tolerated.
