I've never had a problem with Friday the 13th. Nothing bad (or any worse than usual) had ever happened to me on that particular day. This all changed last week. My mom called in the afternoon to tell me there was a message from my gyno's office saying I should call back because of some test results from my appointment in August. So I call, and the nurse tells me that my Pap smear was abnormal and that I have cervical dysplasia. Okay. She told me I had to come in after my next period is over to have a colposcopy. I of course have no idea what cervical dysplasia is, much less a colposcopy, but I was kind of shaken (to me, an abnormal Pap smear means one thing - badness) so I get off the phone after scheduling to come in on October 7th and get online to find out what this is. Cervical dysplasia is the growth of abnormal cells on the cervix. It happens in 3 forms - mild, moderate, and severe. The mild form is nothing to worry about and often correct itself. The moderate form menas that over half of the cells involved are precancerous and you have to have them removed. The severe form means that nearly all of the cells are either precancerous or cancerous. And I won't know what I have until October 7th. This fucking sucks. And pardon me for talking about my gynocological woes, but if you can't blather about it, then what can you do?

I hope everything turns out okay Molly, but if it doesn't, I know you have the inner strength to deal with it, and deal with it with inner poise. :) Take care, let us know how everything goes.
