Strideo A ninja was spotted three times last weekend creeping around the patio windows of Barrhaven homes before committing indecent acts, Ottawa police warned yesterday.

Police Captain Stanley King said the man was spotted once on Saturday at about 1 a.m., and twice more on Sunday at 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. at homes in the Beaverbrook area. "He must not be a very good ninja" remarked King, "I mean if he were any good we wouldn't have spotted him right?"

In all three cases, the man, who wore a ninja costume, watched the female occupants through the sliding patio doors while scribbling furiously in his notebook. King speculates that the suspect may be a ninja artist of some kind, attempting to draw illustrations from the shadows.

Captain King said the suspect made no attempt to talk to or approach the women and fled as soon as his presence was detected.

"He's not intentionally drawing attention to himself," said King.

The suspect is described as 'ninja like' and 5-foot-10 with a wiry build. Anyone with information is asked to contact King at 231-1222, ext. 5944.
