I also wanted to comment about the introvert/extrovert dialogue (and I forgot last night, gah). My first thought: "It sounds like the two sides of myself talking to each other" - except more coherently, I bet.
And your statement on "time" made me think how that can apply to both learning and relationships.

Regarding “reading_now”
I think Stephen_King is one of those authors who people forget is actually an incredible novelist. I think people assume that the horror genre will be mostly about scary plots and keeping readers up at night, but King is a masterful writer (though arguably long winded.) If you haven’t read any other King, I very highly recommend you read the entire Dark Tower series. Many of his other books tie loosely into that world, and the whole thing blew my mind. It’s a wild ride. It’s long. And it’s so worth it. I haven’t read all of his books, but I’ve read a fair number. I admittedly couldn’t get through all of “It.” That book had too many pages and could have wrapped up in half the time. On the other hand, “The Stand” is mind bending and will stick with you for a very long time. I’m always kind of jealous of anyone who gets to read the Dark Tower books for the first time. If you end up reading them you’ll have to let me know if you like them!

thanks for the recommendations! a lot of strangers on the internet recommend the “dark tower” series and “the stand,” and now that an internet friend and super-talented writer recommends them too, i’m sold!
king is definitely long-winded. he must just have endless words flowing through his brain. i wonder how much his editors cut out from the drafts. i enjoyed “the shining,” though i skimmed some parts. it could’ve been about one-third shorter, but with masterful writing like that, i suppose i can forgive the extra.
