guitar_freak I figured that you wouldn't ask yourself 3 questions on blather and i love reading everyone's answers. SO- let's find out the person behind the name.

1. Where did you get your name? It sounds French- est-ce que tu parle francais?

2. What do you think about the 9 Democratic candidates, George_Bush, and the election?

3. If you could plan your perfect concert who would play? You can have 3 groups, dead or alive, anywhere in the world. Who would open? Who would be the main show?

shadow le crowl 1one.
sure, i can speak french, but the only french here is "le." my name is from a cat that my friend steve the logger used to have, it was his crowl, which is to say, his guide in animal form. if you've read blumengarten's monet_on_bartlett, then you know what i mean, i guess.

the crowl is an acronym, per say.
cat
rat
owl
co-w--l.

however, in kemulya and the countries with the inner topography, thay can change to many forms. currently, it is the revered camel.

and so, if i am to name one of my three identities after my own personal guide, it is he who i want to be. because, is it not those who show us the way that we want to follow?

2two. no matter who is elected through a convoluted, serious attempt at proper, if not deceptive campaigning, the democratically-elected president will become a puppet on the hand.
no one man is ever a leader. we have been and always will be a union of disparates, making up the whole.

what constitutes a country is one individual deciding to love others.

3three. azure ray would open.
second would be grandaddy
the main act would be:
death cab for cutie

the show would be in lyon.

4four. the last thing that truly touched me was when we were sitting around the dinner table last night...

we were playing tapes of my 3 daughters singing christmas carols when they were 12, 9, and 7.

presently they are 2o, 17, and 15.

5five. heal myself? physically: hydroculator for farm-related muscle pulls, or arnica oil. holy water (miracle2 neutralizer) for continuous health-maintenance. my wife is a broker for the product if you are interested.

spiritually...visits to the garden where monet_on_bartlett was conceived.
family life. dudes, get married young. have children. buy a farm. work hard. buy good music. make art. become a clown. teach skiing. do cool shit.

6six. i ask because i want to know.

7seven. "work?" god is growing.

8eight. nice. um, christmas is so fucking beautiful. it is how we should be always.
the secret is give.
the cycle will go on. give love. get love. it is endless.

dudes.thanks. this was awesome.

shadow le crowl 1one. yesterday at the school at monet-on-bartlett, my friend crizzy, our zen master steve the logger, and myself were gathered around the little, warm gas stove in his squirrel hill apartment celebrating the holidays since we won't be able to resume classes until april, and we were discussing this various subject about dogs and cats. how dog, of course is god spelled backwards, perhaps referring to its perfectly, spiritual resemblances. how religion, according to edie brickell, is the smile of a dog. the auspice of forgiveness, unconditional love, and willingness to serve are qualities that surely all of us should emulate.

i have four dogs. my chihuahua teedo, who puppertwinkle in affame le geant is modeled after, and who also accompanies me to clown shows. there is sandy, a dingo-looking crossbreed who has been with my family since 199o. she used to roam 1oo acres freely, now that she is deaf we keep her in a half-acre fenced in yard with two other dogs. chiparoo, an australian shepherd who is expert in frisbee catch and retrieval. and maddy, a corgi, dog of the queen elizabeth, who barks with tired concern.

and then cats...oh the cats we have had and still perpetuate! there are currently three outdoor, each one representing a scene of our lives. and three indoor siamese that provide decor on the move. cats are solitary until they need, but their independance is deceptive.

although... there are also horses, goats, chickens, a pig, and the omnipresent frequency of the birds of robin_hill... it would be easier to declare myself an animal person.

nevertherless, to answer the question as originally posed, i want to be a dog person, although there are cat elements in me as well.

yin yang.
light.dark
black/white.
right-wrong;
good-bad.

2two. i do not seem to make a great effort at anything, it's as though life plays me like a game. strive is a strong word. being married for 23 years, i would say i strive to be a "loving " husband because there are always conflicts... especially when i follow personal urges.

i guess i strive to turn myself inside out? attempts to present my soul to people instead of the skinbag i have been zipped within. that's what monet_on_bartlett is about at the core. our skeletal framework. what do we hang our entire belief system on?

3three. growing up in the 6o's and 7o's i played football, baseball, basketball, street hockey, as well as board games of the same. then i skateboarded and surfed in california for 1o years and presently teach skiing to children.

i love them all. each one has its particular interest and individual methods of fun and camaraderie.

favourite? surfing. i love the ocean, the sight of swells forming, the beautiful sensation of coming down a wave and turning into the energy, becoming one with the dynamics.

i hope hilary made a graphic novel for me. i hope greta made me a wooden sculpture. i hope bethany wrote me some of her ephemeral poetry.

i made a huge collage for bethany. there is imagery and text for everyday of the year. 9x11 sheets compiled by month and snug in italian envelopes. it took me all year to make. for hilary i reworked the chalk circle story from fyngula's blue blather post into an illustrated homemade book. greta's gift is a bird mobile. and for kathy? nearly everyday seems to be a holiday with her, but before christmas we will dine alone together at casbah, our favourite restaurant, drink a bottle of italian wine, and slowly melt into rynomari...

4four. i love to observe. and my favourite thing to see is a blue sky with clouds.

sight, hearing, and touch is what i would not give up. the older i get, the less food appeals to me. although, i love the whole experience of eating, from the purchase of it at whole foods, unwrapping it from its paper packaging, the tantalizing smell of it cooking, the rumble of my hungry lion of a stomach, the actual delicious flavours, the conversations, the sweet afterglow of dolce and coffee.

5five. the greatest thing anyone has ever done for me...actually, i can't remember much before i was three years old. my first memory is the story, "in my arms a tiger," from monet_on_bartlett.

so, those years from birth to three, when i was utterly helpless and my parents cared for me would be the greatest thing anyone has done for me...and the greatest thing i have done for someone else would be raising three daughters with my wife.

6six. my most prized possessions vary according to their need and application and are constantly changing. right now in the harsh pennsylvania winter, our subaru outback is tremendously valued for its all wheel drive in the snow. for sentimental value, i treasure the kitchen table journals that our family has been involved since the girls could write. we have 4o+ and counting. they are full of memories and the instances we cared about each other enough to sit down, write, cut and paste, draw, create a moment in time that can be revisited.

thanks for the questions, dudes.
right on. red_blather is becoming the tree we sit under.
