Truly the 76ers of the NHL. Every stage is too big for them. So much talent, so many wins, so consistently squandered. The Jets sputtered out. But the Oilers, decades after Gretsky and they're still the most relevant Canadian franchise somehow, are still in it. And so are the Panthers of course. Could we have a cup finals rematch? Or will the Stars continue to align? Or will the Canes upset the apple cart again? Even if they don't, I'm grateful they turned the Caps into twist-offs.
