There is no escaping the lovableness of double vowels. Case in point: "Poo".

that's me personal symbol, s'bob. :) the only thing that comes to mind with trees is a poem by Howard Nemerov... transcripted here, in all its typorific glory, for your edification and amusement. To be a giant and keep quiet about it, To stay in one's own place, To stand for the constant presence of process And always to seem the same. To be steady as a rock and always trembling, Having he hard appearance of death with the soft, fluent nature of One's being deceptively armored, One's becoming deceptively vulnerable, To be so tough, and take the light so well, Freely providing forbidden knowledge of so many things About heaven and earth for which we should otherwise have no word. Poems or people are rarely so lovely, and even when they have great qualities, They tend to tell you rather than exemplify what they believe themselves to be about, While from the moving silence of trees, In storm or in calm, in leaf and naked, Night or day, we draw conclusions of our own, Sustaining and unnoticed as our breath, And perilous also, though there has never been a critical tree--about the nature of things. *puffs up with a lil' pride* ;)

Hug a tree. Go on, just do it. You'll feel stupid, but you'll also feel better. You can laugh at yourself for doing something so crazy, and that laughter eliviates the boredom if nothing else.

*just* a tree??? half the trees on your block will quietly outlive you! the shade of their rustling leaves, the explosions of color to cheer us during winter's onset, the pure climbability! while birds and planes are pretty spiffy (strange birds especially), never underestimate the power of trees. especially those without roots.

Put up the Christmas tree today. A crane on the top, then some apples for Newton, a fairy, a star, and a reindeer :)

i bought mine on wednesday, last night i bought a proper stand (the jerry-rigged one wasn't working) and an extension cord to turn the lights on. almost made a popcorn garnish (which isn't the right word for it), though one bag wasn't quite enough as i ate more than my share :)
