The clouds looming directly overhead were dark, ominous and foreboding, but off on the edge of the world, rays of hope were cascading through them. The gentle breeze suddenly silenced. I peered to my right and saw a tree, colorless and bare. It’s entire existence, everyday, it waited for the same life giving light that I sought this morning. It looked forward to being surrounded in it, warmed, and fed. Our hero soon crossed paths with the clouds, the tension mounted as the wind stirred once more. Blue and red lightning streaked across the sky as the sun ripped the dark asunder. In new light, the clouds were comforting; they were no creation of nature. It was very obvious that they were set there in such away that one could appreciate them. The clouds regrouped and countered the light. Drops of water fell ever so gently to the Earth as the battle raged on. Lightning and wind were soon accompanied by violent, ground shaking thunder. The rain grew heavier, and I was forced to seek shelter. Behind this window I will remain, watching and waiting. Today will be rainy, but tomorrow will always come.
