U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said he's collected more than $2 billion in pledges. But he said it's "quite likely" it won't all turn into cash.
Annan said that's what happened last winter with an earthquake in Bam, Iran. Pledges came rolling in, but the United Nations didn't end up getting all the money.
