stork daddy i see the appeal of born again christianity. that no matter how much you've fucked up, fucked yourself and others over - there is something always in you that is instantly worth and amenable to redemption.

also one of the reasons born again christianity seems out of touch with reality.

thunderbuck ram Indeed Stork Daddy. And the idea of redemption becomes ever more powerful the more you fuck up and fuck over and the older you get. I will continue to resist, but the call is always strong and loud. 050107

anne-girl That's part of it, but an equally appealing idea is that there's /always/ someone there, you /always/ have a friend. No matter how absolutely screwed up your life is or how much you feel like everyone hates you or hate yourself, there's always this Jesus person who loves you and cares for you and you know that he'll help you get through no matter what, he loves you no matter what, no matter what anyone else might say.

It's something to cling to in the harder times.. it's comforting, even though it may be an illusion - it's the thing I miss most about Christianity and I haven't yet found a replacement for

sometimes 'illusions' are easier
