frAnk 'the music,' another brit band opened and were amazing. they sounded like a younger version of the verve with some vague oasis references, but their use of electronics and driving guitars completely defined their originality. the cats were smooth and a perfect intro to the best live show as we know it.

i wept at one point during colplay just because of the sheer beauty of a band that does all in their power to present their art and give back to the fans that support them.

it was chris martin's birthday and we sang to him. and then he sang to us. the light show and high tech video wizardry was phenomenal. it was classy, well done, and slick as shit.

the show was sold out, our crew from robin hill went and beth had some new pictures she drew to show us and greta was still stoked from the early positive reactions to her snowboarding documentary so the long ride there was full of the kind of conversation that makes driving timeless and cold winter winds inconsequential.

at one point during the show during 'clocks' i looked over at fyn. he had his eyes closed. i knew he must be getting something from somewhere, so i asked him later what it was. he said it was what will grow from the ashes of twinkletoes.
