frame_of_reference
Quintessensual Yes, there is a lot to be said de facto for the "frame of reference" factor.

In one frame of reference I win the argument hands down. In another, my argument is nonsense and you win hands up.

There are culturally defined frames of reference, obviously.

But even the "science - art" dichotomy.

Is this all a dream? If it is, when do we get into the non-dream reference frame? Or, rather, what do the arguments look like there?

Oh, my gosh, don't get me going, please!

I need some rest, as I need to work tomorrow.

miniver But, I was just thinking, if I jack up on definitionism, it's probably just going to lead back to Derrida, and deconstructionism, and many sighs.

And people have already been there before me, great and brilliant people, and they not even particularly decidedly.

Plus, I'd probably never compromise on the terms of argument. Because I'd be 'right' about those too. Terms for terms for terms. It is sad, really.

I need help. I am not an asker-type-personality.
