gronk
joe whatever else my dad did for me, he gave a bunch of words like this to his family and friends. "Gronk" is a verb, meaning to make something fit that doesn't, quite. It's onomatopeia, the sound that a wooden frame makes when you twist that last joint together and fasten it, or drive a wooden peg into a hole to join two pieces. By now, my brother and I use it for everything from describing construction techniques to noting the compromise people make with other people to get along when they have to, or they are just lonely and don't exactly fit in with the group they run with. Will this be the last entry for gronk? Guess I'll have to check back and see if blather is still a living language organism. 031112
