arpeggio
epitome of incomprehensibility I noticed this wasn't a blather word yet.

unhinged wrote on "Beethoven" that an A major V7 arpeggio reminded her of a part of Beethoven's violin concerto...

...and that reminded me how the mM7 arpeggio always makes me think of the Vertigo theme (by Bernard Herrmann). Distinctive sound, the "unnatural" chord and the fast, tiptoe-like motion making it creepy, maybe.

(As for Beethoven, I haven't heard the violin concerto enough to recognize where the V7 arpeggio comes in - also I might not have the same association with a specific key, not having perfect pitch. Then again if I play something over and over again, I can sing/hum it without checking and often it's close.)

unhinged it's the very opening of the solo part in the first movement eoi; you may not recognize the exact pitches but would probably recognize the V7 sound

at that point in western music history it was so punk of ludwig to open the solo part of a sonata form with the V7

i don't care about the form as much as the mental images, but ive always been drawn to the art more than the math

the day after i taught that student i tried to play the first movement of that concerto. i need to put the practice mute on for awhile though so my neighbors don't have to hear my fumbling
